Platone's OL KOCHU / Elephant Foot Yam 1kg

Ol kochu is the Bengali name for Elephant Foot Yam, a large, tuberous vegetable known as Amorphophallus paeoniifolius. It is a popular ingredient in cuisines of Eastern India, Bangladesh, and other parts of Asia, where it's used in curries, mashes, and pickles. While its tubers have a texture and taste similar to potato, raw tubers must be cooked properly, as they contain calcium oxalate crystals that can cause mouth and throat irritation. The plant also has large leaves and a distinctive, large, cone-like flower.
